[:en]Cooperation between Kazakhstan and China reached strategic partnership level[:]

Vice-Speaker of the Chamber Vladimir Bozhko met with Vice Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of Guo Gengmao in the Majilis.

According to the press-service of the Chamber, the dynamic and constructive nature of the Kazakhstani-Chinese cooperation, which over 25 years of diplomatic relations reached the level of strategic partnership was noted, the Strategy 2050 NA reported.

As the interlocutors stressed, thanks to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the leadership of China, an exemplary example of interstate cooperation developing in the interests of the peoples of the two States was created.

Effective implementation of the Cooperation plan on joining the new economic policy «Nurly zhol» and the strategy «One belt, one road» is called among the priority tasks of the present time.

V. Bozhko thanked the Chinese side for active participation in EXPO-2017, while expressing confidence in the further deepening of contacts established within the framework of the International Exhibition in Astana.

According to the interlocutors, the development of interregional cooperation is of great importance. In this regard, Guo Gengmao stressed the perspective of one of the drivers of the Chinese economy — the Strategy for the revival of rural areas.

Special attention is paid to partnership in the field of agriculture.

The Parliamentarians stated the common nature of approaches to the development of the agro-industrial complex: the focus on the production of environmentally friendly products, the introduction of innovations, as well as scientific developments.

Bozhko and Guo Gengmao expressed mutual interest in sharing experience of legislative support of the industry, including in such areas as involvement of small and medium-sized farms in agricultural cooperation, development of export potential, trade and logistics infrastructure, etc.

Discussion of the perspectives for cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, as well as the creation of an effective legislative base, continued at the meeting of the members of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress with the members of the Mazhilis Committee on Agriculture.
